Flexible Heaters and Thermal Systems

Many products designed by Medical and Biotech Developments, Inc. (MBD) have incorporated heaters and thermal systems. These have included delivering +/- o.01 F at temperatures up to 200 F, PCR reaction chambers, heater wrapped catheters down to 5 French, fully immersible heating jackets, widely used automated clinical lab slide dewaxing systems, and diverse diagnotic incubation chambers.

We work with Kapton, Silicone, and Butyl coated heating circuits. These include lengths to 65” long (1.65 m), temperatures up to 500°F (260ºC), intricate cutouts, waterproof heaters, shaded watt density-flex circuits, sensors, temperature accumulators, multi-voltage circuits, intricate shapes, ultra-flat connectors. Technologies originally perfected for making thermal systems are applied to groundbreaking mini system design and fabrication. These include fusion bonding, laser cutting, materials optimization, and thermal controls for lab-on-a-chip integration.
